I'm not sure about that. I think they began to drop in popularity when Stone realised how popular the "Duck Walk" was becoming with teenage girls.

I saw someone post a video he made of Sirens today, with images of 500 Days of Summer. I wanted to click 'like' but it was already retracted or removed. Anyway, it remined me to share what I think of with the Lightning Bolt lyrics you discussed earlier on. You know, the lines at the start that some people dislike. I like them. I see a fallen angel there because of this movie:

No, but I did find this insight into the studio process:
Stone is making faces and watching them reflect off of Ed's bald spot.
Bob is kinda hiding behind ed because he knows everyone wants to punch him in the face
Stone is giving BoB the "Wanker!" gesture behind Ed's head.
