The most fascinating part is that so many signs were right there in front of us. This headline from today could easily have a pre-2015 equivalent. They would just say some bullshit like “federal government intrusiveness in state decision-making“ in front of a CNN camera, and we played along. Like “oh yeah I guess there is a legitimate political philosophy that says the federal government shouldn’t be able to stop state authorities from disenfranchising voters in order to maintain power. That makes sense.”
