No clue where to begin after first listen. Literally just ended. Not sure if this is the album that I had, until just now, been unaware that I've wanted them to make, or, if I'm overly-accepting of the record which they feel they needed to make, but, head is spinning with vague notions and fleeting impressions. Need time to coalesce thoughts

How is your first impression compared to S/T, Backspacer and Lightning Bolt?

really wish Obey the Law Of The Heart was on this

basically if Martin Luther King Jr were alive and made a film and that film had a soundtrack it would be OTLOTH

but for some reason Pearl Jam doesn’t wish to celebrate that movement

Gigaton was their opportunity to make that statement

and they chose to sit quietly on the sidelines and let injustice happen

sad

96up’s shtick is instantly passé since the album’s good

So hard for me to talk about right now without going on dozens of small detours which would lack any coherence, but, the initial energy hitting me feels like this album exists somewhere between No Code & Binaural in a pocket universe where the band never streamlined with Yield.

i have been promoting the expectation of a return to form for 6 years

you savages never wanted to give these guys a chance

but i stuck with them knowing that an Opus was coming

ESPECIALLY after Can’t Deny Me

you all ran for the hills

I stayed right here on the battlefield, cowbell in hand

and guess who regretted it now you’ll cowards

did you read my synopsis on page 965 or just start at the OTLOTH post for which you appear not to understand the subtext
