Vox Lux has some interesting ideas about fame in this day and age but those ideas are surrounded by a pretty boring movie.

Watched The New York Ripper last night and felt he did a pretty good job of promoting how legit frightening and seedy 1980s New York City could be.
I barely remember anything about The New York Ripper. Looking forward to rewatching it when Blue Underground releases their new restoration.
Did BU note that it was going to be uncut?
Oh they’d never do it any other way.

I saw on some webpage that Netflix will be adding an extended cut/directors extended edition or whatever of Hateful 8 late April. Anyone know anything about this?

It’s likely the Roadshow Version that played if you saw the 70mm showings. I did; it several alternate shots and extended scenes (often to stress scenic beauty), and it has an intermission.

Interestingly, QT SWORE it would never be released in any digital form and the only way to see it was via projected film. Not sure why that seems to have changed.

Holmes and Watson

Loved it. No way it deserved those ratings and reviews. Wtf were people actually expecting? Did they want it or need it to be as brilliant as step brothers or talladega nights?

It was fucking stupid and I had a bunch of laughs.

As good as their others? No. But we’ll worth the time.

I laughed a few times. Not as bad as advertised at all.

Watched Kill Bill 1 last night. Man, does this movie ever hold up. Loved it when it came out and seemingly more every time I saw it since. Watching part 2 tonight. Wife's digging it, too.

I loved those movies when they came out, especially 1. But they didn't hold up well for me at all. I couldn't get through one recently.

Other than some really gorgeous photography in the first one, I didn't really care for either Kill Bill when they first came out. The second one, for me, was outright terrible. If you guys don't think they're aging well then I'm definitely not trying to give them another chance.

Sort of agree with this. I like them better than you do but neither film is great and part 1 is a lot better than part 2. I used to feel the opposite
