Hi there,

I'm just wondering - is there any difference between the LP version of
Lightning Bolt I ordered through the 10 Club and the one that I can buy at
the local music store? The reason I ask this is because while wandering
the streets during my lunch break - I noticed that the record store has
several copies of the Lightning Bolt LP for sale and I'm still without the
copy I had ordered (Order #4xxxxxx) which was shipped back on the 10th.

Thank you for your time
Dave

And the entirety of the Email I got back was....

Re: Lightning Bolt query (request #24870)

No difference.

Fuck you 10 Club!
 I bet it was a standard copy and paste reply too. Otherwise, it would've taken too much effort too type it manually.

That's some pretty worthless stuff from the club there

It's really bizarre how long 10C takes to ship anything to Australia/NZ, I'd never buy anything from them if I could possibly help it.

I order stuff from the US all the time, it usually takes 10-14 days tops (often less).

I'm still waiting for my limited edition 'for a short time only' Halloween 2013 Lightning Bolt T-shirt.

Of course, but that's not gross, it can just be a bit aggravating

I haven't, but I'm always tempted to go in there to try to get them to just sell me the bun. I'm a vegetarian, so there's really not much I can have them put on it, but I still want that damn bun. I was tempted to do the same thing at Sonic when they had the pretzel bun for their hot dogs over the summer.
Why don't you just go to the store and buy a package of pretzel buns, cheaper than at a fast food restaurant, so that you can put your own stuff on them any time at home?

I saw on the pit some guy from Aus just went ahead and ordered his replacement copy (still doesn't have his 10 Club copy) - replacement took 6 days to arrive and he's still waiting on the original.

I do this regularly. I also sometimes just straight up use Superpretzels instead of even pretzel buns. But I'm always intrigued when I see a new place putting something pretzel based on the menu and want to know whether or not the pretzel is any good. I'm a bit of a pretzel snob. Or at least the pin on I wear on my jacket claims I am.

Is Santos the one who answers emails? Their ignorant as fuck emails have the same tone as his message board posts. The public facing employees they have (Tim, Santos and Kat) just seem like genuine assholes. But why change when threads like this pop up and you get attacked for questioning the 10c?

Anyone remember the special 10c version of Backspacer with the advertised vault downloads? I believe it took over a year and a half for them to make the shows finally available for download and they weren't even from the "vault". They were previously released bootlegs with no cover songs included.

Some more A+ customer service from the 10C:

I don't think they will do anything. I emailed them back and forth and was actually called a "frequent flipper of PJ merch on eBay"... I actually emailed them back and said thanks for noticing that I had sold 2 pieces of merch bought through 10C in 3 years on eBay. And I did that to help fund me buying the PJ Billboad.

Just a few posts down, he says he will continue to support the organization. That's part of the problem right there.

As though that's their business even if he were.

Don't they have a whole subform essentially set up for flipping? Nothing is sold for cost there.

What's the actual problem with reselling stuff on ebay? I mean, sure, it's a dick move if you buy something and just turn around the next day and sell it for a huge mark-up, but isn't that pretty much just a part of the way consumer culture is set up? If you fucking hate "flippers" so much, then just make enough of things to sell everyone. Otherwise, it's gonna happen, and you really can't stop it.

Sometimes it annoys me what fucking boy scouts the 10C and the Pit are.

I agree, but what is the difference between that and 10C trying to avert scalpers and bootleggers since 1993?

It annoys me how they go about doing that too. At the point that a human being signs up for a membership, buys tickets, shows up at the box office and picks them up with his or her picture ID, you've done all you can do. If he sold them a few days earlier or stubhub or craigslist or sells them immediately afterwards to someone else, it's not the end of the world, and it's never going to become THAT common of a practice. When I read stories about 10C members reporting back to 10C about tickets they see for sale on craigslist or stubhub or people they see selling tickets in the parking lot, it just makes me roll my eyes. There are always gonna be a few tickets ending up on the secondary market. Take a deep breath and let it go.

Haha, Ben Shepherd everybody.
I actually saw Pearl Jam when they were called Mookie Blaylock. It was at The OK Hotel in Seattle. That was before they got busted for using the name Mookie Blaylock [Laughs]. I told them they should've just dropped the "Blaylock" part and went with "Mookie". I thought that was a great name for them

I was always brutally honest with those guys about their music, band, and everything. I love them though.

Stone Gossard and I were even in a band together once. The drummer quit though [Laughs].

There was a girl outside the venue at the Hartford show that was trying to publicly shame someone she caught trying to resell their ten club tickets on the street. She was making it sound like this dude was raping Eddie Vedder's children. Most people were just like "yeah, so?".

I always get the impression that the types of fans who do things like this truly believe Ed or Jeff or Tim Bierman is going to see them and reward them for their actions.

Then again, there were always people on the Pit who claimed that they reported a scalper to 10C and 10C rewarded them by giving them the scalper's tickets. Which, if true, (and that's a big if), makes me hate all of them even more.
