Today's Seattle Times headline about the cops being found not guilty of murdering Charleena Lyles went out of its way to note in the headline that they are not guilty of murdering pregnant woman Charleena Lyles (at age 30, already had 4 other kids). My first thought is to put together a venn diagram of the people who use her pregnancy as an extra shot at villifying the cops compared to the people who marched through our local 4th of July parade shouting "My body, my choice" in response to the Supreme Court. It would be one circle. That's not necessarily a knock on pro-choice, I'm just saying it's a bit two faced. Do you value the life of an unborn baby or not? Pick one.

In other news I led a group of UW interns today for their summer program. As we went around introducing ourselves, only 1 of the 15 went out of his way to tell us he uses they/them pronouns.

Then why do you just refer to them as 'he' and 'his'? I don't get it

What point are you trying to make? That your 15 students represent all of the US in gender pronoun use?

The Starbucks in Ellensburg has a chalk wall with the names of all the staff and their pronouns. There were a few that said (he/they). Fucking pick one.
