Oh it's a dick joke! I get it.
I sort of listened to it as part of the gigaton roundtable but otherwise .....Monkey_Driven wrote:I didn't listen to this yesterday.
I'm finding it very hard to have any "me time" during this quarantine. Have only had a chance to listen to the album all the way through once.Strat wrote:I sort of listened to it as part of the gigaton roundtable but otherwise .....Monkey_Driven wrote:I didn't listen to this yesterday.
This album sucks. Next!
Same here. I've got some dynamite headphones, but, they're open-back, which isn't an issue when working home alone in the isolated way I always have. It's clearly much more intrusive to put them on when my wife is sitting next to me at her desk having zoom meetings & making phone calls.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm finding it very hard to have any "me time" during this quarantine. I'm Canadian (and quite liberal) but i could do without thinking about Trump while listening to this great album...so i suppose i could go for something slightly more subtle than the "sitting bullshit" line.wease wrote:So you’re ok with the lyrical content of this album? Dude, I always liked Bushleaguer too.
No, I'm actually serious. On the runout groove for one of the sides it also says, "This One Took A While." I swear!Strat wrote:It was a joke "This one took a while"durdencommatyler wrote:THAT'S NOT HELPFUL STRATStrat wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:What other one?evenslow wrote:I got "Is This You?" on side D and then the other etching was, "This One Took A While."C4lukin wrote:I got the same. My Side D etching says "Is This You?"
I fucking love it.
I thought it was a joke on how you can see your reflection, like a black mirror on black vinyl.

Can someone help me listen to the gigaton roundtable outside of US? cant get SIRIUS XM in Portugal!Strat wrote:I sort of listened to it as part of the gigaton roundtable but otherwise .....Monkey_Driven wrote:I didn't listen to this yesterday.

They may have tried some new stuff on this one, but, songs don't fall out of the sky, either. Did some of you think these five guys would wake up one day as different people? It's baked in, at this point, and has been for a very long time.Thurman Murman wrote:I'm Canadian (and quite liberal) but i could do without thinking about Trump while listening to this great album...so i suppose i could go for something slightly more subtle than the "sitting bullshit" line.wease wrote:So you’re ok with the lyrical content of this album? thanks
Yep...I don't yet want to bury anyone today (too early), so, let's just say that there's nothing to see here and leave it at that.Strat wrote: probably not.
Also, again, there is NO reason to listen to it. Its david fricke, jon cohen, and jessica from twofeetthick.
Jon cohen basically repeats everything from his review, david fricke rambles about snow in nyc, and jessica doesnt offer any new insights.
It was mostly pointless. You are not missing anything.
this is disappointing. i would think they'd have something interesting to say. maybe they should host an RM roundtable instead.oneway23 wrote:Yep...I don't yet want to bury anyone today (too early), so, let's just say that there's nothing to see here and leave it at that.Strat wrote: probably not.

You give me hope PHATJ!PHATJ wrote:I’m a brainwashed conservative talk radio lister too. And I love this album. Nuance.Hatfield wrote:We got it guys! This is what we've been hoping for, for years! I have a few friends that I once got to share in the excitement and wonder of pearl jam. Concerns, albums, all the things.
They have moved on from Rock music in general so i dont think they even care to listen to this album and that makes me sad.
But, life goes on.
I have RM.I love it too, man. So much. And it came at the perfect time.
Sadly, my three closest PJ friends (toured all over the country with one of them) have turned into conservative talk radio listeners and have either lost their musical hearts or are just brainwashed that anything from left can't be good. I'm working on one of them really hard right now and I think he will come around, but it still makes me sad for them, and for me. Glad I get to read all of RM's excitement. Keep posting!
The "quirks" which everyone adores are definitely more prominent on the record than I believed they'd be though reading everyone's thoughts, but,Superblood Wolfmoon wrote:I think Josh did a good job of handling some of EV's vocal quirks in the mix. Like if you listen very carefully in Who Ever Said, the high harmony on the word "all" in "all been said" is deftly buried as it's a squeaker. Nice work Josh.
So not a dick joke then.evenslow wrote:No, I'm actually serious. On the runout groove for one of the sides it also says, "This One Took A While."
