Holding that syllable in "Right" provides for a bouncy "around the corner" that chugs along in fun little way.
it's like in the movies or cartoons when someone comes flying around the corner and they run in place for a second or two before taking off again.

I just hope we get another track between now and the album.
I've not been this excited to hear the rest for a really long time. The curiosity might just kill this cat.
Anyone who knows the length of time to get an album into stores after its finalized, could they still be working on songs and have time to get it all done? Im still curious about the lack of track list and long time between first single and album release, maybe they had the one song done but still not sure what else to have on the album
Fixer > Backspacer wasn't much different than this was it?
I've got a terrible memory but i don't think it was 3 months
I was curious this was the best i could come up with:

Got Some (Conan) - June 1st

Tracklist/Pre Order - July 15th

The Fixer- July 20th

Supersonic - Late August when the Fixer vinyl was received?

Backspacer - Sept 20th
Damn, thanks for the research. So maybe we could get another song before the album is out

i understand why everyone is defaulting to "it's punky PJ" but i think that's missing the mark.
It's in the vocals, primarily. Musically, I'd agree I hear a lot of Motörhead, but it's not a massive leap from there to punk rock anyway (or at least, a certain style of it).

Well, not so much Guns n Roses, more this:

Y'know?
Yes, OK I can see that. Which is why I mentioned bike leathers and knuckle dusters.

Also, two things: on the album artwork (if that's what it is), that black shape looks like the top of a jukebox. Which calls to mind these classic 'rock' sounds and makes me think we'll get another slightly retro-leaning album but hopefully a slightly more successful one.

And 'Lightning Bolt' isn't sounding like such a terrible title anymore given the artwork but also given what I'm thinking of is the style. The lightning bolt symbol is classically put on cars, leather jackets, and anything classically METAL AS FUCK, so if they deliberately wanted to go fun and stereotypical, it's OK that they did it this way. It's maybe not meant to be serious, it isn't, so it's fine. But also, given the fact that MYM is taking a shot at religious fundamentalism, it's possible that the 'Lightning Bolt' is referring to the act of God / divine intervention / miracle thing as well. Which would be another nice theme to bring in, if they do.
The top-center of the album art also suggests the Islamic moon/star image, as well as a crucifix: http://snappedshot.com/uploads/dmartyr/ ... moon_w.jpg

I'm still not really into the art, but that would be an unusual accident.

I know what you mean, and obviously "punk" has become such a broad term.

This is punk music for dude's who ride motorcycles.

I like the phrasing on "and" in the bridge. It's like a slight hold/pause.

This song after many listens reminds me of the Motörhead/early Metallica era, but is also reminds me of how they sounded during the 04 tour when they dusted off some of the harder punk tunes (dead Kennedys, etc...)

Yes, very true.

There was a point a while ago where I said an album attacking religious fundamentalism would be fun.

When he sings "May not solve all mysteries", does anyone else think of Scooby Doo?

Well that took me about all of 60 seconds to figure that one out on the guitar.

That solo still cracks me up.

Just re-listened, and liking it a bit more. The ending has some cool things going on...I like Mike's quick licks, around the 2:30 mark. Not sure what I think of the bridge part...it's throwing me off a little. This one would not have been too out of place on S/T. I definitely get the Comatose relations, but so far (maybe b/c it's new?) I'm enjoying this more than Comatose.
