why does he sing "you better believe it that you...", when "you better believe that you..." would sound so much more pleasant, and make sense

It's 4/4 with triplets on the hats, although there's a rest or ghost note in there (can't excatly tell from that clip).

my understanding is that if it's in bars of triplets, it's 3/4
but time signatures are a scam anyway

The clip sounds mashed together. Don’t really know what to think. The initial clip we got of DM is the worst part of the song.
