There’s an expensive one across the street, but otherwise aren’t many. Hotel Versey Days Inn is probably your best bet.bart wrote:Gonna be in chicago next month for a few days, anyone have recs for a hotel in in the general vicinity of Wrigley
Thanks spike, yeah the Zachary looks overpriced and too snooty for me. Think I'm just gonna go with the Best Western a little ways away but I'll look into that one too.spike wrote:There’s an expensive one across the street, but otherwise aren’t many. Why are you staying up there? You can stay further south where there are better options and then just take the L up there.bart wrote:Thanks spike, yeah the Zachary looks overpriced and too snooty for me. I’m going to a thing at the music box that ends at like 2am, so I dont want to have to deal with getting all the way back down thereChris_H_2 wrote:Why are you staying up there? Sorry, but I’m confused. How are you getting back to that Best Western at 2 am?bart wrote:I’m going to a thing at the music box that ends at like 2am, so I dont want to have to deal with getting all the way back down thereChris_H_2 wrote:Why are you staying up there? lol we were at Jimmy’s yesterday, not sure if it’s the same one you are talking about. This one was a rooftop bar. We ended up in a basement British pub with a bartender from the Bronx named Melody who definitely wasn’t British but could definitely hold her own in an English pub. I had a scotch egg, Welsh rarebit, and draft old speckled hendoug rr wrote:go have a stiff drink at jimmy's or Rudy's and post a pic...enjoyMonkey_Driven wrote:Get a street hot dog for meE.H. Probably just a five minute Uber? I’m assuming there will be drivers online in a major city when the bars close…Chris_H_2 wrote:Sorry, but I’m confused. can you imagine chris if we had a travel forum? he'd run roughshod over it.Jorge wrote:Don't let Chris bully you about your choices
I’ve been there a few times and seen candyman so trust me, I know how to handle myselfspike wrote:you'll need thicker skin than that in the windy city, bart
I’m not trying to be difficult, but I don’t understand how a 5-minute Uber is fine, but a 15-minute Uber is a deal breaker.bart wrote:Probably just a five minute Uber? you have more options than Lakeview and the Loop. But honestly, it doesn’t matter.bart wrote:If what I want to do is up in lake shore/wrigleyville, why would I stay down in like the loop area? It’d be one thing if there were no decent hotels in that general area but there are, so…?
