You can't compare The Clash to The White Stripes. The White Stripes don't exist without The Clash.

You can't compare The Clash to The White Stripes. The White Stripes don't exist without The Clash.
This argument never struck me as particularly persuasive. I prefer a lot of later-generation artists to their artistic progenitors (not the case with The White Stripes though)

they just rub my the wrong way... i don't get it at all. I'd guess they were just some crappy random amateur band if I didn't know better
