These days I'm waaaay more likely to have a complete spin of Purple or Tiny Music, than Ten or Vs.
I also love No 4 and Shangri-La.

I get that Shangri-La is more of a mixed bag, but it's also home to at least 3 overlooked gems:

A5 Wonderful
A6 Black Again
A7 Hello It's Late

The grooves on this three song section are doomed to die early on my vinyl.

Hello Morning
Close Captioned
The Kill
Place/Position
Do You Like Me?
Latest Disgrace
Recap Modotti
Nightshop
Break
Life & Limb
I'd maybe bump Life & Limb for Epic Problem

I think it depends a little on how far we're expanding the "grunge" label.

But using bands that I think the vast majority of us would agree fit the bill...

1. Nirvana
2. Pearl Jam
3. STP
4. Soundgarden
5. Smashing Pumpkins

If we're including Jane's Addiction, I would sub them in at #4. If the Pumpkins don't count, I'd throw in AiC, obviously.
There's lots to ponder here but the hardest pill to swallow for me is the one where Jane's Addiction bumps Soundgarden.

The guitar solo in “Bi-Polar Bear” is one of my favorite STP moments

Finally, another great episode. Tom Morello seemed cool. The rest of it has been complete and utter bullshit.
