I wouldn't re-do episodes 1-3, even though they are bad. I want to see Rogue One first to see if I'd be in favor of more standalones; my fear with Rogue One is that it might lack suspense.
And, OMG, no TV series.

I ask because I watched attack of the clones last night and it's my least favourite of all the films an it stuck me that there's the bones of some really really great stuff In there. Anakin going to find his mother and his anguish afterwards was great but could be redone so well.
I like to see the prequels remade. So much potential for greatness wasted as they stand.

Prequels : Star Wars :: Jerry Sandusky : Penn State Football
Sandusky is Rey's dad???

What if there's no crawl in R1 cos they're getting us ready for no crawl in episode 8 given that we know it starts exactly where Force Awakens leaves off?
I can live with no crawl in Rogue One. There'd be complete outrage if 8 didn't have a crawl though.

Imagine it. Lucasfilm logo. Into long time ago then cut straight to helicopter shot over the water to skellig. And Luke and Rey. Pregnant pause then Luke says Rey. They have an exchange. He says something amazing. Then bang. Star wars logo and fanfare into the crawl.
Could be awesome.

That would be some convergence in the force.
Plus he has history with incest let's be honest.

She's totally a Kenobi, not a Skywalker.

I agree in one way. In another way there's no way lucasfilm would allow him just throw that out there. It's a major plot point. I think it's a misdirect

Look, Lucasfilm confirmed that Obi Wan is not in Rogue One.
Also, there have been no plans for an Obi Wan prequel because 7-9 haven't played out yet...
Long story short, Lucasfilm is inadvertently confirming Rey is a Kenobi. Just makes way too much sense and I'll be shocked if it plays out differently.
Which is a total bummer. Because I still want Rey to be unconnected to any previously explored bloodline. I'd love her to just be Rey. But... the writing's on the wall.

If she's gonna be sombody's kid, I'd rather it be Obi-Wan than anybody else.
Except maybe Dengar.

1. Not connected to an established character/bloodline
2. Kenobi
3. Palpatine
4. Skywalker
5. Fart noise

I think you're answering a different question:)
Obviously Obi Wan isn't in Rogue One. 90% chance he will be mentioned though and probably by Bail.
Also, Gareth Edwards wouldn't answer whether Leia R2 and 3PO are in R1. Which I'll take to mean they are.

Why obviously? It makes all the sense in the world that he'd COULD be in Rogue One. But he won't be. It's been confirmed.

I hope Leia isn't in R1. She'd look old a shit for the time it is set in.
