I'm still 7 pages behind, but I guess this puts to bed the theory that the sound check was them blaring the studio track over the P.A., versus them playing it live. Think I'll like the live version better.

It was definitely live. Having said that, it was far too echoey to hear things like how intense the guitar was, and the groove Matt was playing...

My favorite clip so far, its been mentioned that it sounds like Dead Weather. I agree with that, and it also sounds like QOTSA. Maybe Homme gave the a guys a tone lesson after PJ20. I'm starting to mark out for this new album!

That's cool. As long as they start playing 'New Infallible' in 5-10 years. . . . .Strat wrote:pearl jam has enough RAWK and BIG GUITARS...

You think it's going to be louder? Is that a likely trajectory for this song?Iowaska_Experience wrote:That's cool. As long as they start playing 'New Infallible' in 5-10 years. . . . .Strat wrote:pearl jam has enough RAWK and BIG GUITARS...

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Fair point. I'm assuming way too much at this point as it is, without hearing the full track. I'll probably like the studio version, but the sound check (most likely due to the piss-poor recording) had me picturing a lot dirtier/distorted sound in my mind.harmless wrote:You think it's going to be louder? Mirella wrote:You know, the discussion here a couple of pages (or more) ago about how general music taste somehow is shifting and we are suddenly allowed (or something) to like even the most 'forbidden' things so far, has led me to another clue. I was checking if one of my friends already had her review printed, but it is still too early. Most will appear two weeks before the album release date. So I checked a site for 'Pearl Jam' and found a ridiculous article about 90's 'fashion' and an interview with a singer whose favourite band turns out to be Pearl Jam. It was Ellie Goulding. One of the singers I hear every day because at work they play hit radio stations. I even like her songs, relatively spoken. We already had the One Direction 'connection' and the Made in America trailer. This is a nice addition to this theory, I think.

I bet Stone wrote the music and "turned it in" through Jeff so it would make the album.
