I'm glad Bulls hired Donovan first. The Mark Jackson stans would have been all over Doc.

He definitely should have been fired but I'm pretty surprised they actually did it.

Doc is mediocre. Billy probably is too but he seems like a cooler guy at least.

He's got that Joakim Noah connection, too.

I'd give David Blatt another chance before I rehired jackson or rivers. If you hired doc you'd also have the double whammy of knowing at some point Austin Rivers would be on your team.

I had a dream that Spo put Haslem into game 1 right before halftime. I freaked out like, "What is he doing!?!" and then UD was immediately open for a midrange J, and as the ball left his hands I got excited for him and then the shot was long, hit off the back iron and everybody was just kinda scratching their heads over what had just happened.

I hope so. The Lakers size advantage terrifies me and I get why the zone could theoretically work against the Lakers since their shooting is so bad but (1) LeBron will figure out how to break it down and (2) they'll scheme AD into open midrange j's all night along against the zone, so I'm not very optimistic that's a long-term solution in this series. At the same time when Miami has weaker defenders like Dragic, Herro, and Robinson out there they need to figure out ways to avoid getting them switched onto LeBron or AD because then it's curtains. It's a weird matchup because you can hide weak defenders on literally anybody else on their whole roster than those two but you know LeBron will find a way to hunt them down.

Miami will probably be okay in half court defense, but I'm expecting the Lakers to try to run a lot even off makes like they did against Denver. That's another scary thought. Definitely can't turn the ball over and make it any easier for them.

I honestly have no idea who to pick in this series. The Heat are a more complete team with a better coach, but Lebron looked so engaged and active in that Game 5 it's difficult to pick against him.

Yes to all of this. Ultimately the Lakers have the two best players in the series and that usually wins. It takes a lot more mental gymnastics to talk yourself into a Heat win (which I'm totally willing to try to do!) than to just be like, they have LeBron and for the first time since at least 2013 he also has the next best player as well. That's probably enough.

But yeah if you go past those two it starts to get very tempting to pick Miami because Miami's 3 through 10 are so much better than LA's.

Miami can get a random Dragic or Herro game, whereas the Lakers may not have a single role player score 20+ in a game. That may be the difference right there. Bam is going to have to continue his stellar play.
