Say whatever about the quality of the sketches, it was so wonderful and invigorating to watch that episode because of the full audience. I also like when SNL swings for the fences. I appreciate that kind of effort and I had a blast watching it. Yes, it was uneven at best. But who fucking cares. I could feel the cast's catharsis and the audience's enthusiasm and that goes a long fucking way for me.
How these people managed to put together what they've put together over this last year and a half is remarkable. To do it at home without a pivotal component -- audience -- and then to finally get that component back but in such a neutered capacity and still do what they do is just... it's fantastic.
Trag's breakdown is mostly where I'm at. However, I loved the cold open (have they ever done that kind of thing before?) and Celtic Women (there's definitely an "I know those people" component to it that helps).
I've said before that I didn't watch this show much in the 90's (which a lot of people consider a heyday for SNL) and this is the first time I've been an active fan (meaning I try not to miss an ep) since the 80's.
The way this episode was presented, it does feel like it could be a lot of folks' last appearance (totally get why some of you are saying that about various members). But I also wouldn't be surprised if that's not the case and it only feels like it COULD be because of the theme/feel of this finale. Either way, whatever happens, I think the team that puts this together deserves a round of applause for what they've done during this pandemic.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I had a couple of laughs at this.
... the second concession stand that is never open ...
... the kid at the urinal with his pants all the way down ...
... the trashcan with the hole that's a little too small to put your garbage in ...
... the Aerosmith video game ...

Awww, Bammy's jealous! Adorbs.
But you've got nothing to worry about, boo. He'll always like you more than me. Y'all saw Pearl Jam together and that's a bond that can never be broken.

Incorrect: Strat, PhatJ, and macphisto all saw Pearl Jam together iirc.

Nah, those three allegedly hung out at someone's house (though Strat doesn't remember).
Strat, Ruddo,Trag, Bammer, 'Snatcher, Doc & Chloe all saw Pearl Jam together in Missoula.
