I do like the songs themselves, though. And that's what matters most. It's not a dealbreaker by any stretch. Certainly doesn't "kill" the album for me or anything like that.

I enjoy it. It's kind of like a microcosm of how I've developed as a fan. Used to be all about the rockers and what would be great to hear while in the middle of a pit at a show. Now, I'm definitely much more a fan of the mellower, laid back tunes. Not that I don't like the rockers - I still love them too, just not as much as I do the opposite. Guess I'm just old now, lol....

Did any of you who ordered the CD/Single Bundle through 10C not receive your package yet?

Contacted 10C about this earlier this week (understanding circumstances this year) and they indicated that all remaining shipments were made this past Monday and should be delivered by this Friday. Still nothing today.

I do quite like the ending stretch of slower songs on lightning bolt - Sleeping By Myself - Yellow Moon - Future Days. I have a soft spot for future days, warts and all, and SBM and YM are two of my top 4 Lightning Bolt songs.


The stretch feels even longer on Gigaton because Buckle Up is a slowish song as well. So it's kind of a 4 song run. 3 of those 4 songs are great so I'm okay with it.

I do like the LB ending run. I agree that 4 instead of 3 makes it feel longer but I'd also add the SBM is in no way (to me) a closer. It's more upbeat than the others, too. But I can't imagine the record ending on that song.

I dont need any new sequence for this album. Its perfect.

And yeah, there are no bad songs here. Havent felt this way since Binaural i think.

Ordered the CD/Single bundle and my email from USPS said it would be here today but just went to the mailbox and no CD. Doesn't help that I would have been arriving in St. Louis right about now.

When can we talk about the fact that they have 12 TWELVE albums? Lost Dogs is a flippin studio album! The press always states 11, I want to change this.....

Lost Dogs is a compilation. Its not a studio album.

I can see where someone would feel Lost Dogs and Rearviewmirror collectively belong in the band's creative journey. They *did* record and make creative decisions around these releases, so there's that, but the big thing in my mind is that those comps seemed to be a part of a broader wrapping up and reconsidering.

It doesn't seem like much of a coincidence that the band seemed so lost around the time of Riot Act, and suddenly after going over all these recordings they hadn't heard in years and making creative (...) edits for Lost Dogs/RVM, they got it into their heads to try and sound like old Pearl Jam again. Sort of like how the work he did on Tracks informed Springsteen's subsequent ambitions.

That doesn't make them an album, per se, but honestly who gives a shit.

I never thought about the release of Lost Dogs leading into S/T. That makes some sense.
