There are only a handful of movies that actually make me angry, that send me into a wild, unrelenting rage. Gosford Park is one of those movies.

Yes. It's flat and stiff and forgettable photography. It's nonsensical in plot/story/action. The pace is WAY off. The acting is okay, I guess, but there's nothing that stands out and captures me. The production design is fine but it's boring and obvious and everything you'd expect. Altman is up his own ass here. It's the most "I'm Robert Altman and I'm gonna make a Robert Altman film and you're gonna love it because Robert Atlman" film he's made (that I've seen -- and I LIKE Altman).VinylGuy wrote:care to expand more? everything? the production design, the photography, the acting?
It's just so lifeless and boring and I couldn't wait for it to be over as I was watching it.
To be fair, I haven't seen it since opening weekend and my tastes have obviously evolved and shifted since then. Maybe I should give it another shot. But honestly even the thought of watching it gives me anxiety and a headache.
