I've been listening to this every day for the last week and there are a handful of tracks that I like. But whenever I hear more than 5 or so tracks it feels like it drags. This has been in shuffle too.

The album reminds me a lot of Rock N Roll with parts of LiH. The production also reminds me of something from the 80s that I can't quite rmember (maybe it's Damn The Torpedos). There are so many predictable moments in some songs, moments that I've heard before. Moments from LiH. When I remember the song names I'll post more but this album is an average 3* for me. Promising moments but not enough. Not anywhere near Ashes and Fire.

Interesting enough read. Hopefully he comes to his senses and releases Black hole instead of just beating around the bush. I'm not sure why he feels the need to trash the later version of the Cardinals. Sure, Cardinology wasn't that great but I still think its better than whatever this new stuff is. And he shouldn't act like his new band of musical soul brothers aren't going to be discarded on the scrap heap in a few years just like the rest when he moves on to the next super exclusive ultra musicians who totally get it or something....

I know I probably asked this before.. but someone post a 15 ish track play list of his best stuff.. I like him, and I have pretty much all of his albums.. but it's pretty fuckin overwhelming

I am really enjoying this! I love the tone of the album and the sounds of his guitar throughout. Great melodies.

The first 3 tracks are top notch and Stay with me is really growing on me. Sexy

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'd only add that after 4 full listens, my favorite one-two punch is "Feels Like Fire" into "I Just Might." The former is what I wanted Cardinology to sound like and the latter houses some real Tunnel of Love style vibes bro.

I'm pretty baffled by the generally positive response to this album. Talked to some random guy in a bar about the new album last week who said he was excited about listening to it and ended up disappointed that it was such a dud. He liked Whiskeytown Ryan so maybe that had something to do with it...

New 7" single Jacksonville is up on iTunes. First two tracks are great. I'm kind of getting a hint of Cold Roses from it. Single closes out with a funny ass track. I can't remember the name of it right now.
