Chloe's list is my favorite so far.
I don't know where I'd start.

It's cool. I'm just happy you guys know who they areSelf wrote:![]()
I remembered it as a daughter.
I had a daughter right around the time I got into them, so that's prolly why I remembered it that way. Holding her in my arms, thinking about what he went through. Ugh...Chloe wrote:It's cool. I'm just happy you guys know who they areSelf wrote:![]()

Have you seen them live? They might be one of my favorite bands live, so much going on at each of their shows and they usually play little tiny joints so you are right up on the stage if you are front row, it's pretty amazing.
Going solo to one of their shows is the best, though! I've seen them three times all on my own. Their fans remind me of PJ fans - the distances they go to catch a show, it's great talking to everyone before the band takes the stage. Craig is always very engaging with the crowd while they are setting up. Doc is finally catching them with me in DC on April 13th. Youtube them at least and be sure to catch them next time they are in your areaSelf wrote:I had a daughter right around the time I got into them, so that's prolly why I remembered it that way. I wanted to see them the last few times they came around, but nobody would go with me. :/
That list I posted is just the most played song from each artist on my last.fm. I wouldn't say those are my "top 10 from the past decade". The National - Baby We'll Be Fine would probably make my official list. That song, don't know what it is about it, is perfect in my book.bodysnatcher wrote:no National songs yet? man..
and Cloud Cult is solid.
This is my favorite Ryan Adams song. A classy piece of songwriting.durdencommatyler wrote:10. My Blue Manhattan - Ryan Adams

I didn't realize this was such a serious enterprise. If people try really hard, they can probably come up with a top 10, and just hope they don't have to repeat it under oath.matt reeder wrote:I agree with 10 being too small to take seriously. I also forgot:matt reeder wrote:Ten that come to mind:
--------------------------
Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
Band of Horses - The Great Salt Lake
Built to Spill - Goin' Against Your Mind
Coldplay - Strawberry Swing
Explosions In The Sky - Postcard From 1952
Radiohead - Arpeggi/Weird Fishes
Sleater-Kinney - Entertain
Sonic Youth - Incinerate
The Thermals - Here's Your Future
Titus Andronicus - A More Perfect Union
Animal Collective - Banshee Beat
Blitzen Trapper - Furr
Broken Social Scene - 7/4 (Shoreline)
LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends
Low - When I Go Deaf
Soundgarden - Blood on the Valley Floor
The Streets - Empty Cans
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
Wilco - Spiders (Kidsmoke)
Wild Flag - Future Crimes
Any of these ranking threads get overwhelming and depend on the "mood of the day" for some people. It's a good thread though, some great music came out over the past ten yearsstip wrote:I didn't realize this was such a serious enterprise.
