Yeah, I really don't understand their rationale at all.
It just makes them look like dicks.

Yeah, I really don't understand their rationale at all.
It just makes them look like dicks.
Think it's because of the censorship in the 07 lolla webcast?

I'm not saying it makes sense!

If it is, that's pretty short-sighted to blame webcasts as a whole rather than the specific factors that led to the censorship in that particular situation.
The end result is their fans get dicked around.

They probably want all the $$ they can get from the bootlegs. Perhaps they think if people watch an online video of the performance they may be less likely to buy it?

So it's a very Pearl Jam thing to do.

Hmmm, that rationale doesn't take into account the inherent sound quality issues of compressed digital sound. So yeah, sounds like something Pearl Jam would do.

(Also when your last few records have kind of sucked.)

Although - that setlist is still predictable. Its a "sing your butts off around the campfire" version of Pearl Jam plus insignificance.

Fuck it wasn't long ago (06) that PJ still thought it was badass to play Sleight of Hand while opening for Tom Petty! That was great!

They have stuck to the songs that dont require much thought/rehearsal when playing. That is not saying anything abut the quality of the song (in my opinion) it just doesnt take much thought in playing them. Doesnt take much rehearsal - wether it be a song they ahve played a million and a half times before - or a song where if you forget a part you can just not play and nobody would even have a clue.
