wasn't eli manning the the rumored next quarterback of jacksonville because of his connection with coughlan?

That was definitely my prediction at one point. And I could still see that happening. They really are a QB away from a Super Bowl. Eli mimicking Peyton and going to a stacked team with a great defense to wind down his career and get one last ring makes all the sense in the world to me. Coughlan is just sweetener.

But I feel less confident about that move now because Bortles exceeded expectations. I still think the Jags SHOULD move on from him but I will no longer be surprised if they don't.

I would think Elway wants a long-term solution at the QB position. But maybe get a vet for one or two quick strikes, while you still have that defense and can make a legit run? Then blow it up and rebuild? Who knows what the guy's thinking. But he has three Super Bowl rings and I don't have any. So...

Joey, I'll let this thread age for a bit before I give my prediction for a Chefs' win total for next year (the number may surprise you!).

:haha:

This year really beat the fight out of me. This was a tough, tough season. No matter what your prediction, I can't imagine it'll get much push-back from me (positive or negative). But I'm looking forward to your take, none the less.

Unless they get Cousins, they need both a vet and a rookie, in case one of the two doesn't hit. Let one of Siemian/Lynch go and have the other in competition along with Chad Kelly who's a forgotten man right now.

The only ones that seem way off to me is Eli to the Cards plus Keenum to the Giants. I think NYG either keeps Manning or throws a rookie to the wolves.

That makes sense to me. I was just trying to be bold and shake things up a bit. And there's the Shurmur connection with the Giants that leads me to believe Keenum is a real possibility there. IF that happens, then Eli is gone. That's the only reason I had him going to the Cards. I was playing out an if/then scenario to keep it interesting.

Maybe. But the stats disagree with you about his being average. And we need CB help. So, even if you're right, I like the Chiefs taking a shot on a guy that is PFF's #6 overall and #2 slot CB.

If the Eagles pull it out Sunday, Foles has to be a starter somewhere, no? You don't go from winning the SB to riding the pine. His contract is favorable (signed through 2021 at $6.1 million per year), so there may be some trade partners, even though he could certainly hold out if he feels like he's in demand.

I say this, but Trent Dilfer went from winning the SB one year to just starting 4 games for a different team the next year.

I agree. But I don't think there's a shot on Earth that the Eagles actually win that game. In fact, I'd say the odds of Foles losing that game for them are higher than the Eagles winning.

But, to your point, if Foles is gonna be a starter somewhere, I could see him in a place like Minnesota or Buffalo. Probably Buffalo.

I wish I had your confidence for Sunday (watch ruddo move this post to the other thread).

What division do you think has the best QB class in your scenario?
