Yes, the first half was very good. I'm the type of movie viewer that doesn't over analyze blockbuster movies, though. For a big budget action flick it was good and was just getting into the thick of the plot when it cut out.

And Doc, I went to the 1:45 showing because we had other stuff going on later in the day, so I couldn't stick around for the 4:30 showing. :/

Yes I got a refund.

Or, you can purposely show up late if you don't think it will be a packed showing. But yeah, that part really sucks, have to rewatch, hope its good when you finally do get to see it all

Yes! I really enjoyed it. I know most people here will over analyze it and hate it, but I thought the pacing was good, action was good, and it wasn't too much as far as the zombies went.

The book is awesome - I'm not holding out too much hope for the movie however. Planning on catching it on Thursday. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

the book cant really be made into a movie, at least not a 200 million dollar one. I could see a mockumentary type thing being cool, but there is no Brad Pitt character.

Again, I enjoyed this for what it was, a blockbuster summer movie.

The book struck me as a fantastic idea with a "could have been better" delivery. It's incredibly short for such an epic and powerful idea, with a few really cheeseball moments (the voice on the radio helping the downed pilot, the celebrity party thing) that could have been reworked or removed.

I was reading Tombstone: The Great Chinese Famine concurrently with it, so that might have had a say in the formation of my opinion, but World War Z is such a cool idea that the book itself had me going "Wait...that's it? You're already done? You really moved through it all that quickly? Were there seriously no other stories to tell within that framework?" It had the promise of being incredible, but ended up feeling like an abridged version of a much cooler, much larger work.

Jorge, I'm curious as to what your expectations of this movie were and what one major thing really caused you to not like it?

Seeing this in a couple of hours. Hopefully I'll enjoy it. Trying to keep an open mind and take it for what it is, but for some reason I'm thinking that maybe I'd enjoy it more if I hadn't read the book.
