I dated a girl who had a Nickelback song on her Myspace page. She was bangin'. Awful taste though. Just awful.

That beats mine - or just about anything anyone else could possibly come up with...

I don't know that most people here are that emotionally stunted.
Wait a second, what am I talking about?

We're emotionally stunted, just not
that emotionally stunted.

Based on this post I'd tell her to dump your ass. So, if there's a woman that can take your presence for more than ten consecutive seconds, you should hang on to her like grim death... which is not far off by the way.

Huh - maybe that's why she's an ex now...
Plus, the beatings.

Having dated Pearl Jam fans and marrying a non-fan, I can say there's something to having their music to yourself and not having to share it that works for me. Plus, it's fun to poke fun at making them a convert when you take them to shows and they are not so secretly having a great time.

I think she likes the video more than the song.

It can be considered as woman friendly soft porn.

My wife barely cares about music at all, and thank God. I can't imagine the asinine conversations that would take place in our household.
"What are you doing here, son? It's 2 in the morning."
"Fight with the wife."
"Money again?"
"No, she thinks Harvest Moon is better than Rust Never Sleeps!"
"I'll make up the couch."

My wife's favorite band is the Grateful Dead so I don't have to worry about her liking PJ.

I dated a girl in college and somehow Thumbing My Way became the song that resonated for us. Prophetically, it didn't work out and I was the one left more upset about it.
My wife now, though, likes The Fixer (specifically because it's more upbeat perspective stands out from a pretty dark catalog), which has helped me to enjoy it more than I probably would have otherwise.
My two-year-old son, however, hews closer to my taste and tends to rock out most to Spin the Black Circle and State of Love and Trust.
It's dumb to break up with someone because of a musical preference, which is a lesson you should have learned reading High Fidelity.

I once dated a girl for 3 months and then found out she liked Kayne West. So I hit her with a wiffle ball bat and broke up with her.

We broke up over pearl jam. Evenflow was the seed of the argument but it extended beyond that. She said she thought Ten was the band's best album by far and that did it for me. I tried to explain why No Code, Yield, even Binaural might be better than Ten. I tried to be peaceful and reason but I couldn't get through. She broke up with me because I think Ten is, at best, their 4th best album.

Must have been quite a serious relationship.

This story sounds like a giant pile of caca.
Jerry Seinfeld broke up with a girl because "she ate her peas one at a time."
