i don't, and we have shit for neighborhood eateries.
I live in Brooklyn.
Just so happens that Crown Heights (my hood) is undergoing a massive shift. Over the last three/four years it's become one of the super cool neighborhoods. We have brand new stuff popping up all around us, all the time. And most of it is stellar.
New ramen place couple streets away is some of the best ramen I've ever had. Gueros tacos are amazing. Dutch Boy Burger is really interesting. Crown Inn has amazing sandwiches, though it's primarily a bar with super low prices and killer cocktails.
I love my neighborhood.
See, I wish I lived in an area like that. I have to drive to get anywhere here. Everything is so spread out here, divided up by rivers, bays and inlets from the Gulf. I'd like to be able to hop on my bicycle and just pedal around town.
It's getting to the point where I only need to go into Manhattan for work. Everything else I need/want is in Brooklyn. Great food. Great bars. Great museums. Great theater. Great concerts. The Brooklyn Nets. Art. Shopping. The Park. And it's all within walking distance. Even the stuff that's just outside walking distance that I like is only a couple train stops away. You could easily ride a bike around. It's brilliant.
If I could get a job at Brooklyn Academy of Music, I don't know that I'd ever go into Manhattan.

I'm sure that's coming. And once it does it's like an invasion of angels.

it is byob
i love both cuisines, i'm just not sure how it'll work unless it's just thai food wrapped up in a tortilla. i mean, you can't mix beans with curry, can you?

it'll be tough to top the other asian-mexican fusion place along the same stretch. it's korean street bbq and their sesame chili shrimp tacos are killer.

it's actually already an established neighborhood noodle place that just moved into a bigger space and's decided to branch out into thai-mex fusion. if they don't go out of business, they'll at the very least just drop the experiment if it doesn't stack up and go back to what they know.
