Orgy is just horrible, right down there with Linkin Park and the Bizkit.

KoRn basically spearheaded nu-metal. KoRn was great.

System of a Down? Little-to-no-hip-hop influence, but they had the edgy look and toured with a lot of nu-metal acts.

I do not consider System of a Down nu-metal. They have the look and came around at the peak of it, but don't really feature many of the musical elements I associate with the genre.

DISCUSS OTHER PEOPLE'S NOMINATIONS FOR A BIT INSTEAD OF JUST FILLING THE THREAD WITH NEW NOMINATIONS

That last post was pretty aggro -- nu-metal was certainly an ALL CAPS genre if ever there was one.

I've always been especially bad at differentiating between metal subgenres but all the bands I recognize in this thread were all always variations on a theme for me -- nu-metal or not, mentally I dump all that late-90's aggro-whatever into the same bucket. The distinctions between artists always felt moot in comparison to the prevailing common emotional and aesthetic ground they all trod.
