I was thinking if it’s a corner of the galaxy we’ve never seen and with totally new characters and no relationship to the saga we know, it almost doesn’t matter when it’s set. Kennedy said blank canvas. Can’t wakt to see what he comes up with.

It could be a prequel. Like say it's based around the time of Knights of the Old Republic or maybe it's like an origin of the Sith or something. I don't think it necessarily has to be a sequel to the events of Episode IX.
