I'm sorry you guys had emo friends. Being a grunge kid was so much better, I didn't ever once have to worry about my eyeliner.

I had lots of grunge friends in grade school, but as I grew up I found myself with a lot of emo friends, punk friends, nu metal friends, etc. I really struggled to find people who shared my musical interests, hence my life in message boards.

Most of my friends at the time were of the stoner/hippie variety, so I'm much more familiar with the Sublimes and 311s and jam bands than emo stuff.

Oh yeah, I had a lot of those too. I saw the String Cheese Incident like three times.

It's riding the coattails of pop-punk much like post-grunge rode nu-metal's.

I’ve never heard this Konstantine shit before. I made it through about 30-40 seconds before I realized it was a 9 minute song. Lol, no thanks.

I graduated high school in 2009, I was smack dab in the middle of emo mania in high school. I'm very glad that awful music has fallen to the wayside, though I don't really like the button-up and rayban hipster shit that's taken it's place in the popular rock scene either. Shit's not even rock music.

A lot of my friends in college were like that. Those people suck too.

Ditto! My homies were into classic or garage rock almost exclusively. None of them liked the Pumpkins or Nine Inch Nails. Unbelievable.
