This is dope. Apparently a full series is on the way.

Been watching a few of these.

Jin-Roh. Pretty good and very topical, but the middle is too melodramatic and dull. Still, I think the beginning and end are worth the watch.

Burt's OP list is pretty unfuckwithable. Akira is perhaps the greatest thing ever animated.

Any anime out there that is not fundementally inspired by revanchism?

There was one that was explicitly this where a country was occupied by a British like foreign power. Anyone know the name of it?

Angel Egg, the first film from Mamoru Oshii (who did Ghost in the Shell) is on YouTube and is well worth watching. It's slow and very religious/philosophical but I really enjoyed it. Some of the imagery even reoccurs in GitS, which kind of blew my mind when I realized it.

Nice. Very trippy. I had to watch at 1.5 speed, though.

Yeah it's slow as molasses. Though I find that very refreshing with how over-edited some things can be now.

Speaking of available on youtube, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust is on there in 1080p and its one of the best. Straightforward vampire post apocalypse story, and the art is incredible. It's depressing to think we'll probably never get hand drawn animation like this again.

It's worth it to seek out the dubbed version. It's one of the few with good dubs.

Was just going to come in here and recommend that one too. Has aged really well. Fantastic characters and action sequences.

Hey Ruddo you might like this one.

Been meaning to watch Reign the Conqueror from Peter Chung (the Aeon Flux guy) for decades and finally got around to it since its on youtube.

It's amazing! Very weird, very psychedelic, very sexual, and very gay.

This how Alexander the Great really happened. Most historically accurate show ever.

Watched Ghost in the Shell last night. Some mindblowing sequences in that thing. It very nearly challenges Akira for the top spot.

I’m not a huge fan of the visual style of ghost in the shell. Akira is a perfect masterpiece.

I don't have any qualms with the visual style aside from some of the static close ups being a little plain, especially involving Motoko. But the wider environmental shots are absolutely incredible. Just bursting with detail.
