That's certainly an idiosyncratic take on that song, dime.

It probably doesn’t fall under the premise of the thread but the song does sound like it’s falling apart at a few points. It’s always bugged me.

That’s one of the most intricately timed songs in their catalogue. There’s not a thing wrong with it.

A fill? The keyboard line doesn’t change though. It just sounds like he hit a wrong key and it created a moment of discord.

Might be a little obvious but I like that they kept Ed's laugh in "Life Wasted." I think it adds a little, er, life to the song.

What I'm gathering from this is that I really like when musicians laugh at their own material.

The reason I think it's intentional / a joke is because it makes no practical sense for Mike to do a rapidfire ONETWOTHREEFOURONETWOTHREEFOUR, especially if he is the one starting the song off by himself. I also think it's cool though

The intention behind that part of the recording was to get people talking. And here we are like 35 years later on a loosely-Pearl-Jam-based message board and it finally paid off.

Yeah who knows. It might be a error from another sessions and the band edited it before brain of j too I don’t know but it works
