Like could a really inspired version of let the records play defeat a great version of hail hail? Or will the song that is better win anyway ?

just playing this out. in order to meaningfully vote, one has to listen to each song that is up in at least the first round, correct? that's like a 130 songs right? that's a pretty big time investment.

I honestly wouldn't mind a tournament full of live versions of just one song.

it is. I was thinking to cut each first round match up down to 4 matches (8 songs) over two days. It'll take a long while but it gives people a chance to listen

plus these are, in theory, some of the best live versions of each of these songs. It shouldn't be like pulling teeth

Once an admin makes the forum visible March(ish) Madness will have begun. To give people time to listen to the songs round one will just be 4 matches over two days. So it's gonna take a while, but it's not like we have anything better to get to...

Ignore the haters Stip! Thanks for organising and coming up with something a bit different.

I imagine the first few rounds will be a bit of a slog and most votes will probably be based on the quality of the song itself rather than the performance, but it should hopefully get interesting in the later rounds.

I'll look into bulk uploading mp3s to youtube to make sure there is an easy way for people to listen to each track
