Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
Gary is a concert patron whose asides were the source of much amusement during the PJ20 web stream.
My excitement over the PJ20 shows getting released has decreased by about 75% since we already have a recording of "In the Moonlight."

Why? We have a 10th album thread even though there is no 10th album. I say it stays for discussion!WtOB? wrote:Let's get this one locked up, B.

With all due respect my fellow jammers, but why some of you are so obsessed with these 2 shows?
I only recently had the chance to watch the BluRay version of the first night (you know the one circulating..fan-made) and although many "rarities" were played, most of the show was really sloppy, specially Ed.

Yeah, I think electing to not release these shows in full was probably one of the more admirable decisions the band's made in the last few years.

Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
The "In the Moonlight" from the first night is probably the best single Pearl Jam performance of the last few years. I agree with you that the shows left a lot to be desired, but it would have been releasing them just to get that one performance out there.kerrang wrote:With all due respect my fellow jammers, but why some of you are so obsessed with these 2 shows?

I haven't seen the PJ20 shows but were they any worse than the Philly shows? Because they absolutely sucked in Philly and they released those shows....and nobody complained anyway...going by the fans' reaction, you would think they were the greatest shows they ever played.

Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
The imagined price is about the same as the reissues, and it's pretty much the same stuff in the box, maybe more. Not that I need to drop another $120 on a box set before 2016, but it's hard to say that the price would be out of whack (unless you've been bitching about the reissues, of course).
If they split it up, I'd probably buy the DVD and CDs. I can live w/o the vinyl.

Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
The Mods on the pit have said this is fake. Leading me to believe it might be real.
Hope it is. A Last Waltz type dvd compilation of both nights would be great.
90% of PJ fans who buy vinyl never listen to it. They should get rid of that.
Course, they won't though.

Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
a compilation will just lead to so much argument of why they picked which songs
a full release of the entire two night stand will lead to arguments about sound mixing
it's a lose-lose.

Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
Also true. I think the compilation idea is probably more likely than two complete shows though. Maybe release the compilation commercially and have the full 2 shows from the 10c in some fancy box. I know a ton of completists will be buying every available edition from every country.

Re: PJ20 Boxed Set
Please. I remember somebody starting a "Philly sucked" thread in the pit and it was basically everyone saying "fuck you those were the greatest shows in the history of the world" and the thread was closed. Maybe two or three dissenters out of how many posts...warehouse wrote: r u new here?
And anytime someone asks for a good bootleg to buy, within two or three posts someone will say Philly 3 or 4. It never fails.
