I'm really excited about hearing the rest of that now, especially where it segues into Rock Steady and then back into Even Flow. Rock Steady is a great song.

Actually, that's almost where Pearl Jam fans are already.
Almost?

I saw Prince live 6 or 7 years ago not knowing what to expect and it was fucking incredible. Never been a fan, but he puts on a hell of a live show.

there isn't really a fan base saying they are better than they've ever been. There are just the fans who say "PRINCE WAS SUCH A GENIUS IN HIS PRIME AND NOW HE'S JUST PEDDLING MEDIOCRE CRAP AND MARKETING STUNTS CAUSE HE KNOWS HE CAN" and those who say that they are still good, but not as good as they were

I don't know. I know they represent an extreme wing of the Prince fan base, but you don't have to look too hard over at Prince.org to find people who genuinely believe he's better than ever and if he were releasing his current stuff in the 80's it would be considered to be just as incredible as his Dirty Mind - Lovesexy run.

That sounds like something a guitarist studying at the Berkeley Institute of Music would do to that song. Funkify!

I'm sorry, my post was ambiguous. I was referring to the PJ comparison.

Ahh, ok. In that case, you're totally right.

One of the best concerts I went too was Prince on the Musicology tour, the 20 or so acoustic solo sets on that tour were just amazing...

I like this cover... always thought Even Flow had a lil funk in it.

Once saw a list of songs Prince has covered over the years... too bad its so hard to find recordings of his stuff (at least it used to be, not sure if it still is)

Black Dog from Zeppelin was one I know I saw listed and would have loved to hear but oh well.

Yeah, they apparently closed with it this past weekend. This seems to be the only review floating around right now...

That was, meh whatever. The word that comes to mind is 'common". The funny thing is if someone posted that snippet and didn't say it was Prince then it would get like 3 responses, but since it's Prince you all are beating off to it. Hilarious. Prince along with Cobain are the most over-rated guitar players ever.

Well, initially I thought I liked it, but apparently I'm just being an idiot. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Would you mind if, in future, I PM you before expressing an opinion so you can let me know if I'm just being a mindless sheep so I don't embarrass myself in the future?
