Kids' ceiling fan light stopped working (it's not the bulbs)
one of the bathroom fans stopped working
doorbell stopped working
kitchen sink having hot water issues
one of our front living room windows cracked
I know this is all relatively minor, but stuff adds up as far as the money. Other than the window, this is all stuff I will fix myself, but goodbye weekend!
Home ownership is fun!
Rodents chewing electrical wires?
I don't think so. The fan in the bathroom still runs but sounds like the motor is going out so it just needs replaced. The fan on the ceiling fan works, just not the light part of it, so who knows. Also, I hate doorbells anyway so I may not even try to fix that.
Doorbells are easy. Is it wired or wireless?

I just noticed two squirrels building a fucking nest in our attic fan escape on our roof. Our roof is incredibly steep, and the escape is on the top part of the roof (of a two-story house). The service call = $95. Setting the traps = $125. Retrieving the dead squirrels = $90. And sealing the escape = $225. $500 later, the squirrel problem is "solved."
Home ownership is fun!

How long do you think I would last before I finally succumbed to rabbies?

Except some of them have 12V transformers hidden in the walls or ceilings.

I wonder what the worse death is, a 30-foot fall onto a brick driveway or rabbies?

Getting 18 new windows installed next Friday. Should help a lot with utility costs and general attractiveness of the house.

Now that's how you do home improvements. I have way better/funner things to do with my time than home improvements. But then again I live in a condo because I can't stand the thought of yard work either.

This week I've fixed all of the squeaks in our hardwood floors. There were a lot of them.

I have many squeaky floorboards too. That seems like a pain in the ass job. Did you drill into the joists to tighten them?

I had a dead squirrel removed from my roof this morning. One down, one to go.
