is it just me and my shitty stereo or is the new one too loud and abrasive? I love the songs but I can't seem to get a good sound when I turn the volume up.

I read somewhere where people were bitching that the record is pretty "bricky". I got an amp so I could listen to records like this one at quieter volumes, my iPod at minimum volume is still pretty damn loud in my headphones. Or else I'd never be able to listen to anything except Leonard Cohen and Bonnie Prince Billy at night.

There's a lot of compression on the high end evident on some tracks.

Every QOTSA album has been mastered like garbage, starting with the first one. I guess that's the sound Josh likes.
Re: God Is In The Radio / The Queens Of The Stone Age Thread
"Uncovered QOTSA" is Olivier Libaux (Nouvelle vague) new album, entirely made of Queens Of The Stone Age covers, beautifully performed by a brilliant cast of female singers."
Out on June 10 2013.

This is really good. I almost feel like this should have its own thread.

Did you listen to You Got a Killer Scene There, Man before that? Those two songs to finish out that record are fucking great. I'm pretty sure most the guys here never get this far into the record cuz (rightfully so) the the previous 2-3 are the worst stretch of the band's career.

Are you including The Blood is Love in the worst stretch?
That's one of my favorite Qotsa songs. What is everyone else's opinion of it?

They played it live last night.
Anyone that doubts Theodore, this is the best I've ever seen them play. So tight. Everything played at the right speed. It sounded perfect.

I'll have to give it a listen. I can never remember. Which in itself says something, but not necessarily that the song is bad.

I'll never think of Joey after last night. Teddy is a monster. And Mikey, good lord.

There's not a dull moment on this record people. It's perfect.
And to finish on a song like ...Like Clockwork is just pure sex.
