I could understand this, though I am ambivalent to cupcakes

I guess my point is that I've always been under the assumption that muffins and cupcakes are widely identified as the hot dogs of desserts. You won't pick it over crème brûlée, but they're good at your best friend's birthday party.

I've never had creme brulee

I'm not a fan of crème brûlée. I'd probably take a cupcake over that.

Arby's has a Creme Brulee milkshake that is pretty good.
