Saying that doesn’t equal rape, Strat. Come on now.

Seriously though, this is the problem we have today. People are more upset about Trump saying crude things (which obviously he does, no one argues that), than they are about the possibility that someone who has been glorified for 50 years (rightfully so) might actually have been an accessory to raping someone. That’s idiotic.

Trump didn’t rape anyone, you dolt. Plus I explicitly said in the first post that “I don’t know what to make of this”.
Do you know what "conflicted" means? The fact this MLK stuff has you thinking but you gladly voted for your God Emperor seems pretty hypocritical.

Also, I would contend there is far far more evidence that Trump is a criminal than this MLK stuff is suggesting.

Verb, don’t be a prick. It has me thinking for the reasons I have clearly stated. And I have no problem whatsoever saying Trump is crude. I was conflicted about voting for him too. What fascinates me is that any discussion about any subject seen as “political” turns into a flash mob of outrage about Trump. Can’t we have a discussion about MLK without everything being about Trump? Also, there seem to be some of you here that think because MLK is dead that we should just let bygones be bygones. However, I’m sure some of you also support taking down statues of prominent historical figures that you think were “bad guys”. I’m more interested in discussing stuff like that. I know you all hate the current president. You know I support his presidency. Do we really need to bicker about that here? Say what you will about him in the threads about him, and I’ll say my piece. It seems like you guys are barely capable of discussing anything else.

Both of these things can be true:

1. PHATJ didn't make a thread about Trump, so it can be kind of annoying when people bring discussions from other threads in here. This happens all the time on RM and in every message board in history, but it can be annoying.

2. Others are allowed to wonder how...I dunno, how interesting it is that, even though we have a prominent thread dedicated to sexual assault allegations against famous people, a poster who has in the past expressed sympathy and agreement with white grievance politics ("Get over it, black people!") decided to create an independent thread dedicated to discussing these issues in regards to the most well-known civil rights leader in American history.

PHATJ wrote:The rape accusation is the most terrible thing, for sure. The connection and taking large sums of money from the Soviet Communist Party is another troubling revelation.
That first sentence is troubling, but that second sentence makes him even more awesome, so it's impossible to say whether this is bad or good.

The Trump supporters who excuse him as "crude" actually bother me much more than the dumb Hicks who love the red meat he throws them. One of the most basic requirements of holding the office of president should be basic human decency. Maybe we're more inclined to excuse suspicions about MLK and not Trump because we're comparing a man who chose to love thy enemy to one who makes fun of dead war heroes?

1. Yes, thank you

2. When have I ever said anything like “Get over it, black people!”??? That’s a ridiculous and untrue statement. Also, before platy pointed it out, I’d never opened the Bill Cosby thread. I started a new thread about this for the precise reason you just said: if true, these allegations of “the most well-known civil rights leader in American history” probably deserves its own freaking topic don’t ya think? Seems like an important story to me. I guess I don’t know about you. I resent the implication though that my motivations were racist. To that I say you are wrong and have literally ZERO evidence to prove otherwise. Specifically because I’m not racist, never have been racist, and have never made a racist post.

I'm no McCain Stan but the comments Trump made about his POW status and then after his death were shameful. For me, thats a better barometer of whether or not someone should be holding office than whatever lies a politician chooses to tell voters about the policies they support.

Verb, I’m way more interested in the ACTIONS and policies of the president than the bullshit he sometimes spews. Sticks and stones and all that. I’m far more pissed off about Obama sending millions of dollars to terrorists organizations, and Hillary selling Uranium, and leaving Americans to die in Benghazi, and deleting thousands of emails, and destroying evidence, than I ever will be about Trumps crudeness. Mostly because I’m an adult and can understand that people say crude shit. Hell, that’s half of what RM is.
