eh, on Android, you can pretty much make the icons whatever you want, and there are hundreds of different icon packs to choose from.
Boom. Roasted.
No, I've seen Android icon packs (that aren't conceptual deviantart creations) and they look awful. And then the stuff that the carriers overlay? Garbage.
I don't think my icons look awful at all. Add in the fact that I can customize how many icons I have on a page and can have widgets, that's a win to me.

Are we all sharing our homepages now?

One thing I like is Android has these "app launchers" which are essentially customizers. the one I use lets me make my icons big or small or whatever. It also lets me assign an upswipe action, so most everything on my home page does double duty. Touch the phone and it opens. Swipe it up and it automatically calls my wife. Touch the flipboard icon and it opens, swipe it up and it opens Feedly. etc.
The only reason apple made news with these changes is because they give a big fuck you to anyone who wants their icons to look different. I don't tend to give a shit what my icons look like, but if I did, I can change them in about 3 minutes.

iOS 7 is going to require a period of adjustment.
In related news, I have a new 13" MacBook Air currently on its way. Pretty exciting.

Loving most aspects of 7.
My wife just got an Air and she loves it more than she loves me.

It's half assed. Just a poor mix of gradients and flat icons.
The new control menu was much needed however.

Looks like Google....
Ill get used to it and start to like it, then they will change it and ill complain, and so on and so forth.
What sucks is the update fucked up in the middle of it so it put my phone into recovery mode. i tunes couldnt detect it and told me i had to re-start my phone. My phone wouldnt re-start and it told me I needed to connect it to I tunes...
So, I had to restore it.
Well, it seems as though all prior backups are not formatted to fit with the new update so I lost all my music and photos and settings etc....
Sweet! ya apple.

Question - Are apps still "running in the background" on this new OS? Previously, you would just double click the home button to see which were running in the background and thus eating precious battery. I am not able to do that anymore...

Yeah, I was similarly mystified and had to Google that one yesterday.

I have an iPhone 4 and am a little hesitant upgrading to iOS 7. Not too mention the fact where It apparently needs 2.9gb of space where I only have little under 1gb left.

Time for a spring clean.
