That's kinda what I was getting at. Something like 9-7 is way below average for what they and their fans have come to expect. Most of the Pats fans on here freak out when they lose one game.

Couldn't have said it any better, Nate. Jesus Christ. There's now way he comes out of this totally clean. I think half the reason they let Welker walk was because of his ability in the slot. Could blow up in their face?

yeah, i'll be shocked if hernandez isn't guilty of something pertaining to this guy's death.

Not with Brady and Bill at the helm. Not yet. Gronk will eventually be back, and as of right now Hernandez is available. You have to kind of count on Amendola missing at least half the season too. I feel like they would have 2 more championships if they keep Seymour a year or two longer, and if they keep Branch and now Welker etc. I'm sure they can find talent they can win with, but it takes a while and it takes fairly smart dedicated football players to learn and perfect that system and the Chad Johnson's of the world (talented but stupid) are generally what's available at this point. Depending on what happens legally, they do have draft pick currency to make some trades, and there are quite a few guys out there worth taking risks on at TE and WR

Hernandez has been a could have been for the bulk of his career even at UF at this point, so I mean, while it hurts them, I don't think that they are going to have too much trouble scoring, I mean Brady has done more with less.

Something tells me we're still in for a Pats loss in the AFC Championship game. Or Super Bowl loss. Just based on the lack of competition out there.

Sad news though. Too many young people from that area of Boston die. Often.

This makes it sound like he was at least present:

http://www.myfoxboston.com/story/226387 ... a-homicide
A law enforcement official tells FOX 25 Hernandez appears to be directly tied to the homicide which is why authorities executed a search warrant at his home Tuesday night. According to the same source, Hernandez, Lloyd, and two other men were at a bar in Boston the night of the homicide, and at some point, the four men left together in a car driven by Hernandez which was confirmed by a text Lloyd sent another friend, the source says.

It is unclear where the car went or what happened during the ride, but according to the source only three men returned to Hernandez's home at the end of the night and Lloyd was not one of them.

The source also says forensic evidence places a vehicle driven by Hernandez at one of the crime scenes in this case.
BTW, Pats fans, should I split this off into its own thread?

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the conversation between him and Belichick...

The only way this could get better is if Gronk calls the cops and says I got Hernandez in the car, back off.

Apparently either Hernandez or someone close to him smashed up his cell phone and his home security system.

Just how did he think he was going to get away with this?
