Nice! Im also a bassplayer. Havent played along to PJ in quite some time now, thanks for reminding me that playing this band is a lot of fun :D

When I was a young boy backpacking in Australia I went to see a couple of PJ shows on the Riot Act tour there. And I also got the meet Jeff, told him how he was such an inspiration to me. He asked me about my favorite songs to play. I immediatly said 'Hail, Hail' and 'Tremor Christ'. He smiled and said 'mine too'. We talked a little bit more about his precision bass (the one seen in the I am Mine clip). I got his autograph and later I saw that he wrote ' :heartbeat: 4 strings' next to it.

Cool stuff.

Fun experiment: create a bassline for Take The Long Way and edit it in or have someone here do that. It's sorely missing from the album cut.

I'm gonna keep doing full records, I think.

It's better late than never:

You're totally right, the bass is completely missing in this song, and I don't know why.

Nice stuff. I've finally learnt some bass songs (and uke) and there are some belters there. I always thought Jeff was Grunge's Mr Cool, everyone else in grunge looked the same at the time but he had his own look. I reckon songs like Once and State would actually be easier for the singer on the bass than the guitar, at least in terms of the lead riffs.

In terms of laying a bass track down, how about putting a Uke through a distortion pedal and playing You're True, and laying down bass and drum tracks for it? I'd do it myself but I only have an acoustic Uke, and the mains port on my loop pedal is caput.
So basically, Johnson and May spent Trump's presidency fighting each other over how best to sell the NHS to Trump.

I've kept uploading lots of PJ songs, there you have some of it.

I'll soon finish the Avocado album, I only have Big Wave, Come Back and Gone left.
