Not that "Stupid Mop" is that, exactly, but still.
Voting for "All Those Yesterdays" here, unless "Around the Bend" makes a run for it in the end.
You are vastly overthinking this.
What sort of comment would reflect the correct level of thinking?

Immortality has always been a song I really like, but don't put it on the highest level of PJ tracks that many others do. Plus, while I do like Yellow Moon, it and Force of Nature are big sounding, important songs puffing out their chest to sound big and important. I like the idea of undercutting that feeling with the humor and charm in Yesterdays.

If the undercut is strong enough it might just knock "Yellow Moon" off the album completely

All those yesterday’s or immortality.
ATY actually sounds better after the previous two tracks on this album. Also what an awful final 2 of 3.
Hmm

This decision has nothing to do with how well Immortality fit into Vitalogy. I get your logic on wanting something less heavy, but agree- if you want Around the Bend, vote for it! This tracklist is not going to be anyone's cup of tea anyway.

Alright, party of two!
For real, though: I think it's easily their best album closer. They really captured a vibe there.

Parting Ways is great actually. Both live and on the album.

What I was meaning to say was that I don't think "Immortality" would make a particularly good closer, period. There has always been a lot of talk in PJ world about whether "Immortality" should have been left to close Vitalogy on its own, and whether "Stupid Mop" is actually a "real song," so that was my reference point. And the reason I don't think it would work there is the same reason I wouldn't pick it here.
And, I would prefer "All Those Yesterdays" to "Around the Bend." But, if the latter made a surprise rally, and it was between that and "Immortality," I'd hitch my wagon to it. But right now it looks like "ATY" has the better shot.
Stuff like this is just part of the strategy/thought experiment that makes this game fun. I'm certainly guilty of overthinking on occasion, but this one was just regular thinking.

I am firmly in the immortality is a great closer camp - one of the things that makes it work (in response to the points you made) is the instrumental meandering that closes out the song - it comes after the some die just to live moment that is the songs emotional conclusion, and serves as a post script cool down

given the way this bounces around chronologically some of the transitions are slightly jarring and it takes a few moments to settle in. Marker into I Am Mine is the first that felt comfortable, and probably not coincidentally, it is the first two song sequence from adjacent albums
