At this point in 1968, you also had two prominent voices for changes in systemic racism assassinated. And one was a presidential candidate. We’ve not had that yet, but we may be closer than we really know.

I actually have more vivid memories of seeing Buckwheat getting shot than I do Reagan.

Actually active attempt was what I was looking for. Who has there been since Reagan?
It just seems like we are parsing this out by level of success. People have tried to fly planes into the White House, and a man opened fire into the White House because he thought God had told him to kill Barack Obama. When you talk about Reagan, you’re just talking about the last time security fucked up enough to allow contact.
