For real this thread should be retitled “Linkin Park (Mostly Creed Talk).”

I’m not doing that
More nu metal and less post grunge please

Oh, the dumb bitch they got singing is a scientologist who defended Danny Masterson
Yeah fuck Xenu Park, shoulda been Shinoda who died.

She sounds like a real piece of work. Pretty dumb move by the band.

anyway no big deal, at least we can all unite behind how bad Creed and Nickelback are
LP occupy a similar space in my brain as MCR: fuck the haters, they have a lane but they drive it extremely smoothly
I like Linkin Park!
Sure hope this lead singer didn't defend Danny Masterson, though.

our nu-metal tourney made me realize how bad LP really was. They aged horribly. I'd rather listen to Limp Bizkit.

My mistake. She did support Danny Masterson up until attending one of his court hearings but cut ties with him immediately based on the details that emerged.
So she's probably not a POS. Maybe just a lil silly.

I saw someone describe Linkin Park as “thinking man’s Limp Bizkit” today and had a great laugh
Guys I am so here for this Xenu Park vs. The Mars Volta arc. This is better than NFL to me right now, 2 of the bands I listened to 20 years ago and grew to fucking despise going for each other's throats, with the looming indignation of Scientology hanging over it all. Fucking hate Scientology, what a stupid crock of mentally ill bullshit. This is hilarious as fuck to me, better comedy and entertainment than actual comedy and entertainment.

A few TMV albums are still good.

TMV are exceptional. Never cared for Linkin Park.
Hiring a well known Scientologist as a replacement lead singer has got to be one of the biggest fumbles of all time.

Yeah I'm already weirded out and exhausted by all of it. I wouldn't be surprised if Shinoda is a part of the church at this point. Just what the hell.
Alright, here it is, the article you were all waiting for.
As a seasoned Linkin Park hater and situational Mars Volta fan (but still mostly a hater overall), seeing 2 bands from when I was 13 go out and try to murder each other was the main musical death match for 2024 we all needed.
Fuck nu metal, fuck Xenu.

she was born and raised in an aggressively coercive cult; there were consequences if you didn't do aggressively coercive cult things
her support of Masterson is in the past, no more, and I have reason to believe the cult is too; apparently you can leave Scientology but if you speak badly of them afterwards you're putting your loved ones in danger
idk, I'm happy enough with her written statement on that; I don't know if we'll ever get official confirmation she's left Scientology for those reasons, but she's allegedly addressed it in lyrics, and there are some great takes out there suggesting that The Emptiness Machine is all about it

I wasn't the biggest LP fan but I thought they were decent
Not even holding her on the DM thing, she said once she realized what was going on she distanced herself
That said the new song is complete garbage and I couldn't care less to hear her sing the hits
