Doing a favorite five was hard. A favorite ten would be better.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yes, but it never radically departs from the established premise. The relationship between Russell and Rhys gets much more intense, though--that's ultimately the draw.
gotcha...i really enjoyed the first few episodes, but something just didn't click as much after...i'll finish out season 1 soon and reevaluate
Maybe it's not your speed but I think it's, without exaggeration, the best, most complex on-screen romantic relationship of the "prestige TV" era. All the stuff about trying to destroy America becomes a delightful window-dressing.
are you saying i'm slow

Can’t believe I forgot Schitt’s Creek, but I don’t think it would have been top 5. It might be 6 tho.
Looking over these lists, Mad Men is my only glaring omission. It’s such a commitment tho.

I said something to this effect on the previous page--I love Mad Men, I think it's a brilliant show, but I am never like, fuck I want to watch some Mad Men now. Maybe in a few years I'll rewatch the whole thing but it's been five and I'm still not jonesing.
