I have no problem with Leash, but it definitely meant alot more to me at 15 than it does now. I love Sometimes...perfect set up for what was to come. I remember how jarring it felt at the time to start a Pearl Jam album in such a mellow way.

I’ve never had a problem with Leash’s lyrics. Never loved them but also never understood the backlash. The music is good but not amazing. I really like Ed’s voice on the “I’m lost I’m no guide” part. But I suspect that the extended lack of live performances, and it’s placement on the album sequence relegated it to a perpetual also-ran for me.
