This is really the point.

Wait, haven't you heard? The only reason the band waited around for 3 hours instead of cancelling is because they didn't want to loose any money. It had nothing to do with Ed's lifelong excitement for playing Wrigley Field. And the only reason 98% of the fans stuck around was because they wouldn't have been able to get a refund.
Really? This band sucks my citizen.

Sucking one's citizen is a good thing, right?
Yeah

I should've said this band sucks Putin's citizen.
Which is bad. Got it!

I've never really liked it too much. I find it kind of dull. I don't dislike it, but I never find myself wanting to listen to it.

Sorry, I didn't realize this was the praise thread. Here's my praise: it sounds really good.
More praise: "Fatal" is a really beautiful song, and kind of reminds me of "Faithfull" structurally.
More praise: "Faithfull" is amazing.

I'm still recovering from the fact that this was said, and that thread was started at all. There were a few times in the past couple months when I had almost given up on this board entirely. I thought I liked Pearl Jam way too much to find a place here.

Positives: i'm loving the demo recently, really haunting. I especially like the parts with the layered vocals and that high pitched ooo-ing over the guitar ed does. Is ed playing the electric guitar on this too does anyone know? i assume its him
The bridge in insignificance is one of the best things the band has ever done
I really like all the extra little noises in the back of some of the binaural songs, the jingling, beeping, wooshing etc. I hope theres some of that on the new album

My main problem with the album version of "Speed of Sound" isn't the actual band arrangement, but the number of frivolous flourishes added in to busy up the track-- the hammered dulcimer, the castanets, the sleigh bells, the much-maligned lasers. There's a good song at the core of it, but there's so many bizarre instrumentation choices in the finish product that it feels like an ugly, bloated mess.
And put me down as another "Strangest Tribe" enthusiast.

i love all of the things you just said.
About Strangest Tribe: i still remember when it came out..1999 i think? on the verge of waiting for some news about a record, this little gem was really special; Ed quiet vocals, that weird guitar...that chorus...i wish he and Stone would get together more often.
Its one of my favorites winter songs from all times.
