4 stars for me, though I think the original version and acoustic version could be rated separately since they are so different. (I'd give both 4 stars). The original unreleased version has a really old school, early PJ sound. Love the guitar riff. Not quite as good as the other Ten era songs (which are almost all 5 stars to me) so I can see why it didnt make it. In retrospect though its still pretty good. Im not a huge fan of the changes they made for Lost Dogs. Its such on early PJ sounding song, that it works best with early PJ Eddie style vocals- not re-recorded vocals. hate that idea in general.
I actually think the acoustic version might be superior though. Such a warm rich sound to me. I think some subtle bass and drums would have made this a real solid complete tune. But as it is I still dig it. Unearthed gems like this make me hungry for more reissues and/or Lost Dogs 2.

The only thing shittier is the acoustic version (which inexplicably got a lot of love when it was first released).
I accidentally picked this in the last PJ tournament, mistakenly thinking of Hold Me.
edit: which on another listen isn't much better but has the benefit of being a live improv
i love this improv

not sure how this make sense. So Hold On is a Bon Jovi-ish song? I dont hear that at all.
wait I got it.
"riding on top a black horse"-EV
"on a steel horse I ride"-JBJ
you were right.
I actually really dislike Bon Jovi by the way. I stand by Hold On.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with liking a Bon Jovi song. I kind of like that one "Misunderstood".

you're right, it was rude of me - what i should say is it's ok to like a song that's indicative of the period of time it came out of... i look at hold on as being one of those songs.
