I agree that is very cheesy
Not that cheesy when you consider half the group here leaned on Gigaton during the pandemic.

Here's the original track list for Binaural. Some were dropped and later appeared on #LostDogs. You can see that God's Dice was added to the list.
ORIGINAL TRACK LIST:
"Breakerfall"
"Insignificance"
"Evacuation"
"Letter to the Dead" (later renamed “Sad")
"Rival"
"Grievance"
"Light Years"
"Of the Girl"
"Thin Air"
"Nothing as It Seems"
"Fatal"
"Sleight of Hand"
"Soon Forget"
"In the Moonlight"
"Parting Ways"
"Education"
I would still like to know what’s wrong with putting like 17 songs on a CD

I know many laud that original tracklist, and the songs are great, but in terms of a listing, and finding a way to build an album with the way you order your songs, it's a bit of a mess, IMO. I think the released version, particularly the way the last two-thirds of the record is ordered, works a fair bit better.

Imagine thinking Gods Dice was more deserving than Sad

Their best album. This and Yield are the only PJ albums I listen to these days.

If I’m gonna spin a PJ album there’s roughly an equal chance between it being any of them with a slightly higher edge to Vs. and lower edge to BS and LB.

I wish it would occur to me more often to play their other stuff from Lost Dogs, movie soundtracks, bootlegs, etc. but I usually just tell Siri to “play _____ album by Pearl Jam”

Didn't Ed think it was too similar to Light Years or something? Bizarre. Though I still love God's Dice.

Binaural has to end with Parting Ways. Education in that spot makes no sense.

I think the band thought that Light Years (then Puzzles & Games take) was too similar to Given to Fly so it was reworked into its eventual form.

All i remember hearing about Sad was that Ament thought it was a great little pop song that just didnt fit or something.

This is the only version of the album I've listened to for years.

Still can't imagine the album ending with Education. Wouldn't feel right.

Does anyone have the balls to take a stab at a real cohesive, double album version of Binaural based off the tracks from the sessions that are out there?
