They’re one of those bands who found one thing that worked and have made a career out of it. It’s kind of admirable. There is never growth from album to album, but if you like one, you like them all. I don’t like AC/DC, but Chevelle is this band for me. Their sound is very distinct, but the songs are interchangeable. Makes for very easy to enjoy hour and twenty minute sets. yeah, the foos are the acdc of their generation.

Although ACDC are way harder.

Doesn’t help that I really dislike this song to begin with, but that’s on me.

I think the Foos make a lot of music that sounds the same, but I don’t think they have a distinct sound at all. If you just play the instrument part of AC/DC, Chevelle, Korn, The Offspring, you know exactly who it is. With the Foos, you could guess Daughtry or Nickelback or dozens of other bands from the early aughts. Also, the Foos disappoint because they’re always promising something new and it’s just more of the same with a gimmick attached.

This was totally fine. Not great, but not an abomination. Liked the production/arrangement for a song that never really clicked for me.

I wouldn’t put the Foo Fighters with a Daughtry or Nickelback. Dave at least has the sense not to take himself too seriously, which is in some ways where the comparison to an AC/DC makes sense. Pumping out mostly the same thing with some small variation but bringing their audience exactly what they want, and without a sense of sanctimoniousness (if it’s there for Dave Grohl it’s tongue in cheek).

I've never liked AC/DC. Boring "rock badass" façade draped over 4/4 power chords any beginner can throw together. Vocals are grating and the lyrics are stupid. This cover is even worse than the original.
