Listen to him every once in a while. Interesting guests but he asks the dumbest questions or goes off on pointless tangents. He's a Charlie Rose type who plays the idiot for the guest and I find that very annoying. He's clearly more thoughtful irl then he let's on.

It's not hard to see why he's so often attacked, though most of the idiots who attack him don't even know what they're mad about.

Not saying he's a rocket scientist or anything, but I've heard him in interviews where he's talking about something that he's interested in and he sounds pretty informed and articulate about them.

Really? To me he sounds like my daughter trying to tell me how fruit grows, and the effect too much rain can have on fruit production, and then when I correct her going 'Yeah - that's what I was saying daddy'

(I use this example as it happened in the car just a few days ago)

He’s the Art Bell for the podcast generation. Smart enough to have turned a gig hosting Fear Factory into a very successful career.
I think people who listen to him are generally looking for answers in life. The people like Paski and Bden and anyone who thinks the US government should be leaning on a company to cancel or moderate his voice are not to be trusted and absolutely look down on them.

Strat wrote:Dude actually has no interesting take on anything. He was able to get good guests and get them talking....by letting them get stoned out of their mind or drunk....? I dont know. He was fine when he has entertainers on because it was just bro's talking about bro stuff....

Beyond that? Dude seriously doesnt have an interesting/thoughtful take on anything.

Gwyneth Paltrow for white dudes.

And ive felt this way about the guy well before this whole recent drama. I used to enjoy watching him on youtube depending on the guest but.....
I missed this post earlier but this kind of says it, no?

Due respect to Strat, I don't know exactly how he means this, but the guy has the biggest podcast out there. Search google "Joe Rogan audience" and it says 190 million people download his show per month (2019).

https://www.google.com/search?q=joe+rog ... nt=gws-wiz

How does someone with nothing interesting to say or do gather such an audience?

Whatever you think of this guy, he's found a way to operate outside the traditional silos, and engage anyone. Does it not give you guys pause when you're looking down on such a large group of people over Joe Rogan?

I voted "Neutral" for what it's worth. It depends largely on context, so it's not an automatic "think lesser of"

Your daughter should start a podcast (or guest on Rogan)

I've heard about a dozen of his interviews and I feel he has a valuable space within the whole picture. He's not as smart as he thinks and not as dumb as many people think.

He should have invited Neil Young on to his podcast to discuss it all. There's plenty for both to get into.

NY signing to Amazon (Amazon surely have a 100% clean workers rights record, right?)
How Amazon has both Pfizer board members and Blackstone board members on their board

Are those the same two groups of people that combined forces to elect the 45th POTUS?

As I said earlier in this thread though, for me it's not that "Rogan=idiot," it's that Rogan is one of many possible signposts that might build a composite picture of an idiot. It also might (and I hate to agree with Trag here but he's right) be a symptom, an indicator that someone feels like they're missing something in their life and unfortunately Joe Rogan is the best they've been able to find to fill that hole.

So you'd also look down on people who consider themselves religious and/or like X-Men movies?

I only listens to him if the guest is good, but i enjoyed those podcasts. Im not interested on pretty much anything ese than that.

But i think Neil got it wrong. He should have gone to his podcast and ruined the bastard with good information about the vaccines for example. Even ask him why the fuck did you says so many stupid things...something like that.

Not at all, though I certainly have contempt for religious extremists and find Marvel adults pitiable. I'm just saying, there are lots of things that are widely popular that suck, or that I at least personally dislike or don't care for, so it doesn't give me any pause that Joe Rogan is popular.
